AEA Ignite Grant Success

We're proud to share that our researchers have secured $409,847 (GST exclusive) under AEA Ignite Round 2 for an exciting new project:
The Development of an AI-Powered Screening Tool for Childhood Speech Disorders - Say Check

Led by Beena Ahmed and Mostafa Shahin, this project will develop and test Say Check: a child-friendly, AI-powered speech screening tool designed to feel like a game. The tool aims to quickly and accurately identify children who may have speech difficulties, enabling earlier access to support while providing reliable insights for clinicians.

This important initiative is delivered in collaboration with The University of Sydney, James Cook University, and the University of Canberra, strengthening cross-institutional expertise in AI and health technologies.

Congratulations to the team on this impactful and innovative work advancing AI for social good
