1INTRODUCTION

Apologies for the late post. It airs tonight. Too many springs under the shoes!

2SBS TV BRIEF

"Your Brain, On Tech: Whether it's social media, artificial intelligence chatbots or banking, news and maps all on a device in your hip pocket, technology seems non-negotiable.

But, do the costs outweigh the conveniences? Host Kumi Taguchi speaks with addicts, abstainers, and those in between to explore whether we're too reliant on our digital devices."

3FIRST QUESTION

Philip Mallon alerted me recently about being in the panel. As his email said, "The video clip opens at my house and opens the show. I get to the answer the first question from Kumi".

4BACKGROUND

Philip was my thesis supervisor, the industry part, from the Dept. of Main Roads, now RTA from 1989. As you may recall, Bob Radzyner (RIP), was my ElecEng supervisor.

5CONNECT NIGHT

There was a presentation back in 2015 by Dr. Geoff Mackellar to the Alumni. It was titled, "Wearables for the Brain".

What I only have in the email is:

"This year we are excited to host Dr. Geoff Mackellar, CTO of Emotiv Inc. who will be presenting a lecture titled, "Emotiv EPOC and Insight - Wearables for the Brain."

With the interest around wearable devices growing each day, it is sure to be an insightful address. More details on Dr. Geoff Mackellar's work can be found in the attached event flyer.

The event is also your last chance to see the School of Electrical Engineering & Telecommunications building before its upcoming $104 million refurbishment. There will be an opportunity to reminisce on your university days with a tour to the labs and around the building."

If I find more information on it apart from it being on 19th October, I'll share it in a comment.
