Something shared by an 'old timer' in the late 1980's about how we see Dad over time. Howard Goodfellow (rip) was turning 60 at the time. At 5 - Dad knows everything! At 7 - Dad knows a lot. At 10 - Maybe Dad doesn't know everything. At 12 - Hmm... Dad might be wrong sometimes. At 14 - Dad doesn't get it! At 16 - I can't always take Dad seriously! At 18 - What does Dad even know? At 22 - Dad's opinions feel outdated. At 24 - I think I know more that Dad. At 26 - Okay... Dad has some good points. At 30 - Maybe I should ask Dad about this? At 40 - How did Dad handle all of this so well? At 45 - Turns out Dad was right about a lot. At 50 - I wish I could still ask Dad. There's so much I've love to learn. This could be a good guide for your projects or working with others by substituting months for years. For me, the increments have resonated well over the years. | |
